I’ve been using a Studiopress theme for 6 years and they’ve continued to update and support it, which is why I choose Studiopress, which was later bought by WPEngine.
I’m wondering how long you’ll continue to update and support your themes as web standards change?
This is an important question for me. I don’t want to buy one of your themes if you don’t intend to continually update it.
How are you associated with WPEngine? Are you separate companies or part of it?
Note : I’m interested in buying the Hello! theme but would appreciate some input before buying.
Thanks for your interest in our themes!
These are great questions. Hopefully I can help answer them.
We are associated with StudioPress and WP Engine as “Marketplace Partners,” aka Third Party Theme Developers. We create our own Child Themes for the Genesis Parent Theme: “Hello! Pro 3” and “Course Maker Pro” — both are for sale through our own site as well as on the StudioPress site.
Our strong partnership with the Genesis team means we can keep an eye on the latest development changes making their way to the Genesis platform. We do have a limited team of developers so we aren’t able to keep up with every bleeding edge update that comes to Genesis, but we do closely monitor the updates from the development teams, and actively participate in Genesis related development discussions, to ensure our products utilize most of the new features of Genesis. Our Hello! Pro 3 theme was one of the first third-party themes available to offer the One-Click Theme Setup feature, as an example.
I hope this answers your questions!
